The History East Troy Basketry
For 13 years, East Troy Basketry was a store located East Troy, Wisconsin owned by Jim and Eileen Mirsberger. They poured their hearts and souls into this shop and made it the amazing resource that it is today.
In 2013, in order to simplify their lives, they moved the business to their home in Burlington, WI and shifted to doing mail order through the online store, by phone and email. They welcomed customers as friends into their home to shop and learn just as they had in the store. This summer, Jim and Eileen retired from the shop completely but Eileen will continue teaching classes at her home.
East Troy Basketry Today
Hello!
I am Theresa Breunig and I am the new owner of East Troy Basketry. I first started weaving over 15 years ago when I took a class through the local community center and I was hooked! I joined the local basket guild, Prairie Weavers Basket Guild in Sauk City, Wisconsin, and with this group of awesome ladies, I have had so much fun weaving and learning from both local and nationally renowned instructors over the years.
A few years ago, I also started selling my baskets at local arts and crafts shows, mostly because my house was too full of baskets! But I have found that the best part of doing these shows is talking to people. Hearing stories from people whose family members used weave and meeting fellow weavers has been great! I teach classes to beginner weavers locally as well. I love to see the new weavers experience success and walk out the door with a completed basket!
When I am not weaving, I am a high school math and computer science teacher and a super pround mom of my 2 just about grown children, the youngest who is off to college this fall!
I have been a customer of East Troy Basketry since 2007, so when Jim and Eileen announced their plans to sell the shop, I knew this was an opportunity that I could not pass up. One of the things that made East Troy Basketry what it is today is Jim and Eileen's commitment to only offer the highest quality and freshest materials they could find from the most reputable sources available. I will continue with that commitment to quality. Jim and Eileen continue to be a resource to me to help assure you the best shopping experience possible.
Customers are still welcome to browse and shop by appointment.
