BASIC BASKET MAKING CLASSES
These classes, offered at YOUR CONVENIENCE, are intended to give the beginning weaver a good start in learning the basics of basketmaking and prepare the weaver to be able to make basket on their own or take other classes . The classes are offered on Mon Tues, Wed, and Thurs. 10-5 and on Thursday evenings 5-9, however special arrangemnts can be made for other evenings of the week for groups of 4 or more. Class sizes will be kept small so that every weaver can receive individual attention.
You will be taught to read and understand basket patterns and will be shown additional patterns that you can make using the skills you have learned.
It is recommended, but not necessary, that the classes be taken in
order as the skills build on those learned in the previous classes.
Cost: All 4 classes for $60 includes materials.

This basket holds a large round jar candle such as a "Yankee" candle. The
basket is woven on a drilled wooden base. You will learn the basic over and under weave
with flat reed and twining with round reed. Your choice of colors Takes 2-1/2 to 3 hours |
| Class # 2 Slotted Base Basket  |
This basket will be woven on a slotted wooden base. You get more practice twining and
learn continuous weaving. Takes 3-4 hours. |
| Class # 3 Round Bread Basket with spoked base  |
With this 9" bread basket you will learn the basic skills needed to make round
baskets of any size with a woven base, additional weaving and rim techniques. Color
can be added if you choose. Takes 3-4 hours |
| Class # 4 Market Basket  |
This 8" x 12" rectangular basket with a plaited bottom teaches you the
basics for all square or rectangular baskets. You will learn how to weave on a "D
Handle," learn several ways to add color to baskets and how to rim and lash a
basket. Your choice of colors Takes 6 to 8 hours |
